About the Course

All food handlers engaged in the sale or preparation for sale of any food in Singapore Food Agency-licensed food establishments are required to attend and pass Food Safety Course Level 1. They are required to attend and pass their first refresher training by the 5th year from the date of first passing Food Safety Course Level 1, and thereafter the second and subsequent training every 10th year from the last refresher course passed date.

Assessment / Certificate:

  • Multiple-choice questions

  • Short-answer questions

  • Practical

You will receive a Statement of Attainment from SSG upon attainment of a minimum of 75% training attendance and pass the associated assessments.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Speak, listen and read Chinese at Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3, and manipulate numbers at Workplace Numeracy (WPL) Level 3.

  • Never attended school.

  • Attended and passed FSC L1 within the last five years (from the date of first passing FSC L1).

  • Attended but did not pass FSC L1. Invoice / receipt as proof of prior training in FSC L1 would be required or registration.
