About the Course
At the end of the course, you will be able to support the workplace safety and health (WSH) practices implementation and provide peer support to relevant stakeholders.
What You'll Learn
Identify WSH hazards and risk control measures in environmental services industry.
Assist supervisor in WSH inspections.
Participate in incident investigation.
Suggest areas for improvements to better manage WSH hazards and risks at the workplace.
Identify the unsafe acts or conditions present and recommend corrective actions to management.
Assessment / Certificate:
You will receive a Statement of Attainment from SSG upon attainment of a minimum of 75% training attendance and pass the associated assessments.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3, and manipulate numbers at a level not lower than Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3.
Never attended school; pre-primary / kindergarten education; primary education without PSLE / PSPE certification or equivalent.
A minimum of two months of work experience in the waste management industry as Crew (Waste Collection), Senior Crew (Waste Collection), Team Lead (Waste Collection), Supervisor (Waste Collection), Driver (Waste Collection), Senior Driver (Waste Collection), Captain (Waste Collection), Sorter (Materials Recovery), Senior Sorter (Materials Recovery), Machine Operator (Materials Recovery), Team Lead (Materials Recovery), Supervisor (Materials Recovery) or with the interest to be employed in the industry.
